Due to my blindness, I may not be able to see your beautiful faces, but I can feel the love and support that surrounds me. My name is MaeBell, and even though life has dealt me some tough cards, I am still the sweetest and most loving senior kitty you could ever hope to meet.

Once upon a time, I was the cherished companion of a kind-hearted older lady. We spent many blissful years together, sharing warmth, laughter, and endless cuddles. She was my whole world, and I was hers. But one fateful day, something happened to her, and she left this world, leaving me behind, alone, scared, and heartbroken. The family she had known did not want me, and I was passed from one family member to another until I was eventually brought to an animal control. The world turned cold and unfamiliar, and I found myself in an animal control center, trembling with fear.

The sanctuary heard about my plight and immediately offered me a safe haven. It was a long journey, lasting seven and a half hours, but the moment I arrived, I felt the warm embrace of the caretakers who greeted me. They took me to the kind veterinarian, who conducted a thorough examination and ran some tests. That's when we discovered the health challenges I faced. Hypertension caused my retinas to detach, plunging me into a world of darkness. But that wasn't all. I also had a mammary gland tumor than turned out to be cancer and teeth that were causing me immense pain and making it impossible for me to enjoy a simple meal. I was able to get all the surgeries that I needed and today I am a very happy girl. After multiple surgeries I can say that I am a cancer survivor!
