I’m Opal. I’m a senior lady, with a big heart and a soft purr.  I have feline leukemia, but I am doing quite well especially when I'm basking in the great outdoors, feeling the wind through my fur. I'm a lover of life's simple pleasures, the joy of human companionship, cuddling with my kitty friends, and taking long, dreamy naps in the sun. I love watching the rest of the kitties, squirrels, birds, and basically anything that moves from up high in the outdoor areas. Life is now good for me. Once upon a time, I found myself in a place not meant for a cat like me. I was surrendered by the family I had spent my life with to an animal control. I was at an animal control facility where being a senior and positive FELV status meant I was running out of time. Thankfully, a kind soul whispered my story to the caretakers of this sanctuary, and they opened their arms and hearts to me. Here, I've discovered a world filled with friends, abundant love, and the comfort I'd been yearning for. But as I've settled into this chapter of my life, I find myself with a little wish, a tiny dream of finding someone who would like to be my sponsor.
